Seven Snippets Fridays Volume 3

Short weeks always seem longer than regular weeks. Why is that? I’m off for Veteran’s Day (much gratitude to all who serve, have served, and will serve) and hoping I can catch up on some of this week’s missed sleep.

Somehow I went from making a couple of things for a few friends to having to make a list to keep up. I’m not complaining, I just hope I can meet all the deadlines I’ve set (like things need to be made before certain folks birth certain babies).

Our landlord replaced the washing machine that flooded our laundry room last weekend. While he replaced it with literally the cheapest one they sell at Sears, I’m simply grateful I have laundry making its way through the washing process.

Our weather is gloomy. It just makes me want to curl up in the house and watch movies and keep the fire going. That may be all we do today. And laundry.

I still don’t get Phineas and Ferb. But the kids love it. So it’s on right now so I can blog.

J just told us she’s going to ask Santa for this doll. Please help me find something else to distract her with. Please.

132 days until the Hunger Games Movie is released. The best books I’ve read in a really long time – and I can’t wait for the movie!!! Anyone else looking forward to this too?

  1. I can’t wait for the Hunger Games movie. I was introduced to the books by my daughter and we even shared them with all our extended family. I hope they don’t butcher the film.

  2. 1) Gloomy weather makes me want to curl up and watch movies by the fire too. We had nice weather here in MD, so I did some reading in the hammock. Not sure I can do that for much longer.

    2) As for phineas and ferb, I don’t know why I like it, but I do. I’ve watched quite a few episodes with the kids I babysit. I guess I like the whole imagination thing, and the fact that the sister is always tattling on them, but it’s always cleaned up before the mother looks.

    3) Obviously I need to read the Hunger Games. I’ve heard they are good, and they are my list but haven’t actually read them yet. Maybe over winter break I’ll get a chance to!

  3. I love Phineas and Ferb! It’s Spongebob that I don’t get.

As for the doll…my mom decided that Sarah Kate *needed* a similar doll when she was four. The wretched creature was called “Amazing Amanda” and was the creepiest doll ever made. We began calling her Chuckie because she reminded us of that ridiculous horror movie about the doll that comes to life and kills people. She would start talking at random times (from the bottom of a toy box in the closet, as SK never played with her) and was very needy. Occasionally she would do it when friends of mine were at the house and it would freak them out.

I was so glad to see that thing go…
